After receiving his training at UC Santa Cruz’s
reputable graduate program in science illustration, Evan Barbour
interned at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology before becoming the
Lab’s assistant graphic designer and resident illustrator. There,
he developed his specialization in ornithological illustration while
co-producing The Birds of Sapsucker Woods, a field guide to the
sanctuary surrounding the Lab of Ornithology. Evan now resides in the
San Francisco Bay Area where he currently illustrates for two books on
